This morning, many news stations reported that an organization was founded in Oregon that was an alternative option to the Boy Scouts, which does not allow gays to participate in any way and touts a strong Christian foundation. This new organization in Oregon allows both boys and girls, and does not discriminate based on sex or religion. The news posed the question via social media, would you sign your child up to a similar group?
There have been many groups in the last decade that allow both male and female participants. It seems unusual that these organizations have not taken the opportunity for some good PR in the wake of the BSA's unfortunate decision to uphold its current ant-gay policy.
